Show COLD WAVE IS AS FAR SOUTH AS GALVESTON FIFTEEN DEGREES BELOW ZERO AT VINITA, OKLA. Heavy Fall of Snow Covers Entire States of Missouri, Kansas and Most of Oklahoma. Kansas City, Jan. 12. After a fall of snow extending over Lho entiro states of Missouri and Kansas and covering over three-fourths of Oklahoma, Okla-homa, tho tomperaturo at most points In the southwest this morning was tbe lowest of the year. The cold wavo extends as far south as Galveston, where a freezing temperature was reported re-ported today. At Vinlta, Okla,, the temperature was fifteen degrees below be-low zero. Topoka, Kansas, reported 10 below 7ro and Fort Smith, Ark., 3 below. Cattle are reported dying on tho ranges near Vinlta. Snow, which began falling early yesterday at Springfield, Mo., continued contin-ued today, severely Interfering with telegraph and telephone conditions. A precipitation of ten inchos was reported report-ed today. |
