Show ZIONITES OFF FOR NEVADA MINING MEN STRIKE A BONANZA AT CHAFEY. Custom Mill May Be Put in, in Near Future Tons of Valuable Ore in Sight. A party of Salt Lake mining men, accompanied by a number from Ogden, Og-den, arrived In a special car last evening even-ing and left shortly for the Chafey nilnlnr district in Nevada. The party Is headed by W. H. Tobln. John Q Critchlow, and James Christiansen of Salt Lake, and will comprise about 20 members besides those who start from Ogden. "There Is every probability of the Chafey camp becoming a bonanza," Bald Mr. Tobln, yesterday, "and these Salt Lake men, who, like myself, have Invested In quite a bunch of properties there, are simply taking another trip there to make further investigations. We were out there two weeks ago and were well pleased with the prospects. Chafey, you know, has taken out about $200,000 worth of ore in the last seven months, and there Is a million blocked out and In sight. "We own the townslte there and are thinking of putting in a custom mllL The present mill is of 50 ton capacity and the milling ore runs about S3o per ton. The shipping ore runs as high as $125 per ton. At a banquet given in Salt Lake the other evening, the table was ornamented with an $8,000 gold brick, the third one of that size and value which has been sent out from the mine this month." Among those who are thinking of accompanying ac-companying the party tonight is W. O. Kay of this city. Charles Barton was asked to join the crowd, but states that he will be unable to do bo. |
