Show RECEIVER IN CHARGE OF PROPERTY SUPERIOR BRICK, TILE & MILLING COMPANY IN COURT. Carl C. Ratmussen Named as Receiver With Bonds Fixed at $5,000 Peter E. Lamar Makes Charges. The Superior Brick. Tile & Milling company was Friday placed In the hands of a receiver by an order from the Judge of the district court. Peter E. Lamar, one of the directors and original stockholders, makes charges against Franklin P. Johnson, the president, presi-dent, and David C. Lawpon, the secretary sec-retary and treasurer. The company was organized last October, Oc-tober, for the purpose of handling cement, ce-ment, clay and other building supplies and to receive contracts for building pavements, roads and other similar undertakings. Imar in his complaint asserts that the company has liabilities amounting to $5,000 and insufficient assets on hand to meet those obligations. Ho charges tho officers. President Johnson John-son and Secretary-Treasurer Laweon with being partially responsible for this condition, and asserts that each has submitted claims against the company com-pany for large amounts which are not just or proper. The total claim against the company held by ihe two ofllcials aggregate $2,906 08. according to Lamar's La-mar's complaint. His demands to inspect in-spect the books of the concern have been flatly refused, he says, and the officers have at all times 6hown a disposition dis-position to withhold tho affaire of the company from other directors and shareholders. Lamar says that Johnson and Law-son Law-son have practiced . force and deceit in the management of the company's affairs and that the claims which they hold against the company, are. to a large extent, for their services in selling sell-ing tho stock. After tho court had lne6tlgated the complaint an order was issued appointing ap-pointing Carl C. Rasmussen receiver, after a bond of $5,0i' hud been filed with himself and t7o United States Fidelity and GuarLy company as sureties. |
