Camion intro-duced intro-duced in the lower house of the Utah legislature a prohibition bill so sweeping sweep-ing In Its provisions as to provide a fine in case a man takes a drink of intoxicating liquor. The measure, which Is to take effect immediately upon being enacted into law, forbids the sale or manufacture within the State of Utah of intoxicating liquors, except for medical, manufacturing or sacramental purposes. One of the features of the bill is the safeguarding against drug stores becoming be-coming grog shops. A doctor can prescribe pre-scribe pure alcohol for medicinal purposes, pur-poses, but the prescription must bo filed with the county clerk and cannot can-not be filled more than once. On the prescription must be the name of the druc store, doctor and patient Officers falling to enforce the law enn be removed from office. |
