The following advertisement appears this morning in the "for sale" column of a metropolitan metropoli-tan daily: "For Sale A man. 43 years old, five feet, seven inches tall; weight. 160 pounds; sound In limb, broke tc machinery, easily driven. Won't &hy at work. No reasonable offer refused. This is no fake. Right person will find a bargain. Apply to E. T. O. Loughlin. No. 739 Carroll street. Brooklyn." Mr. O'Loughlin is not a press agent, ! as might be supposed, but a business ! man with an interest In sociology and economics. The man whom he advertises ad-vertises for "Bale" applied to him for work and, having none to give him, ho decided on the plan at tho appll cant's suggestion. The man for Bale i wants primarily food, shelter and clothing and in exchange therefor he i? willing to draw up a contract in writing with the purchaser. He la a machinist by profession, but is at present destitute. |
