' By wielding a heavy cane, Mrs. Ijams stunned the dog until Mr. Ijams ran to her assistance and shot the animal. Mrs. IJanis noticed the dog in her front yard. She was alarmed by the. animal's actions nnd became more ro when she noticed It waa frothing at tho mouth. The dog finally Jumped through a pane of glaBs, Into the dining din-ing room. With fear for the safety of her little grand-child who was playing play-ing In the yard, Mrs, Ijams picked up a heavy cane. As the dog jumped through the window sho dealt It a blow on the head, splintoring the cane and severely wrenching her arm. Just as she 'struck the dog. Mr. Ijams came rushing into the house and shot the dog dead. Mrs. Ijams is a frail little woman, j C5 years old. |
