Show HOMESICKNESS ATTACKS THE FOREST EMPLOYES Assistant Forester F. W. Read was In Salt Lake, Monday, on business connected with his department. District Forester Clyde Leavitt and District Grazing Chief H. E. Fenn left for the Mackey district In Idaho today, to-day, where they will attend a meeting of stockmen and assist in perfecting an organization of the sheep Interests similar to other organizations which have been formed of late In different sections of Idaho for the purpose of facilitating the administration of forest for-est control and regulating the forest range. A. H. McPheeters. deputy supervisor supervis-or of the Sawtooth forest, who has been spending some time at the local office on detail work, has been obliged to return to his station on account of. sickness in his family, one of his children being 111 with scarlet fever. C. F. Chapman, assistant chief of operation of the Washington office, stopped off last week for a brief conference con-ference with the district officers regarding re-garding the local situation. Mr. Chapman Chap-man has just finished a tour of inspection inspec-tion of the six district headquarters in the West, and reports everything running run-ning smoothly. He stated that the office of-fice force in San Francisco was suffering suffer-ing of a severe attack of homesickness, homesick-ness, and he was surprised at the general gen-eral air of contentment apparent at the Ogden offices. At Albuquerque matters were rounding round-ing into shape, the force there having been considerably demoralized 1 through the death of one of the chief . officials of that district. ! At Portland and Missoula, he found j everything In good shape and working i smoothly. He was highly pleased with the situation sit-uation in Ogden and complimented the local force nn its efficiency and general gen-eral condition. Mr. Chapman lett Monday for Denver for a brief Inspection Inspec-tion of the headquarters there. i |
