Saunders was held yesterday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, at the Fourth ward meeting house, Bishop E. A. Olson presiding. Tho funeral was largely attended by friends and relatives of tho deceasort and many beautiful floral offerings were brought to the bier. Music was furnished by Orson Griffin, who sang tho solos "Jesus Is Callrag." and "Sometime We'll Understand," Mrs. C. M. Marriott who sang "Abide Witt Me," and Miss Florence Wooley who rendered the solo, "Beautiful Isle ot Somewhere." The speakers were Elder El-der Joseph Wright, Bishop Robert McQuarrie, Bishop E. A. Announces Advance Rate The Southern Pacific has announced an advance of 25 por cent In freight rates on livestock from forty two stations sta-tions on the Shasta route to San Francisco, south San Francisco, Oakland, Oak-land, San Jose, Sacramento and Rodeo. It is Btated by traffic men in San Francisco that the advance is a part of the company's policy of ralr-lng ralr-lng ' rates from points of origin to points of concentration for re-ship-ment to the east by -water. It Is believed be-lieved that many similar advances are to follow. Complaints against the increased rates have been lodged with the state railroad oninilsslon, by nine large packing firms. La6t, of the Arm of Last & Thomas, has returned re-turned from an extended trip east In tho interest of his firm and to visit with friends.
