Bmelters may securo the condemnation condemna-tion of agricultural land within a radius of four miles, provided they already al-ready own 75 per cent of the territory affected. The act applies to counties or less than 20,000 population. It is Intended to reduce' fjrlctlon between the smelting companies and tho farmers farm-ers because of smoke damago. A short, quiet session of the house was held yesterday as a result of tho absence of nearly a third or the members mem-bers in attendance at the military ball, under the auspices of the Utah Agricultural college at Logan. Those .who remained did not feel like working, and upon motion tho house adjourned at half past four o'clock. No bills wero passed, and only ' the roll call ' and committee reports occupied oc-cupied the attention of the members. On Tuesday the opening session will be at 10:30 a. m. and another session ses-sion will be held, commencing at 2 o'clock. Houso rule 26 was yesterday amended so as to allow of only three minutes in debate, and three minutes to open and close In all cases.
