President Roosevelt, in a special message to the senate, declines to permit Attorney Attor-ney Bonaparte to say why he has fall ed to bring action against the United States Steel Corporation on account of the absorption of the Tennessee Coal & Iron company. :he message is a response to a resolution introduces intro-duces by Senator Culberson. The reading of the message elicited the closest attention of the small number num-ber of senators present. His statement that congress had not the authority to call for the reasons of the attorney general in rendering an opiuion elicited elic-ited smiles from senators. |
