Show WOMEN FORM NEW CLUB HERE Margaret Stewart Elected Head; Banquet Held at Weber Club Business and professional women of Qgden met at the Weber clui last night and, following a banquet, organized or-ganized the Business and Professional Women's club, which will affiliate with the national organization The charter roll was signed by 75 and It Is expected that within a few weeks the club will have more than 100 members. miss .viartf.irei aicwan was siecieo president; Mrs. Edward Bichsel, vi, president; Miss Viola Clancy, secretary, secre-tary, and Mis Inez ( 'ortez, treasurer. it Margaret Burns, Mrs, Mary Raw-son Raw-son and Miss Ida Pitzslnimons were i ccted as directors. Among the principal speakers were C. A. "We want to know what business women nre .loinir not onlv In FTtali but what they are doing nationally. To learn this wc must ally ourselves with the national business women's league. Salt Lake bus made a beginning begin-ning but since the Individual must have fellow workers and gain by Interchange In-terchange of ideas, so our sister city could not achieve all without comla to Ugden. "Organize this league upon sound principles, for things that really count In helping the business woman to be a worth whle power In every community, com-munity, eliminate the frills and nonessentials non-essentials and I am with you and for you heart and hand." Uonroy of Salt Lake spoke briefly on the aims of the organization or-ganization and Its purposes, calling attention to the many things thai had been accomplished by various local lo-cal organizations in various sections of the country. Miss Elizabeth Fitzgerald also spoke along similar lines and urged the members lo attend all meetings and by their cooperation help to make the club a success. Miss Mildred Ware sang "The Lilac Tree." and was accompanied by Miss Grace Matthews. Miss Minnie Brown delivered a reading entitled. "Peachy Lee" oo |
