Show U L RAILROAD GRANTED TWO-YEAR EXTENSION SALT LAKE. Feb 18. An extension exten-sion of two years was granted by tho public utilities commission yesterday yes-terday to the Salt Lake & Denver taiiroan company on its certiricate of public convenience .and necessity which entitles it to build a lino from Springvllle into the t'lnlah basin country. The chamber of commerce of My-ton My-ton and Vernal protested against tho crantlng of tho continuance for two years, without some assurance that actual construction work would, soon be under way. "It appears to the commission," , reads the order, "that applicant is the only hope the Utntah basin haa at this time to secure railroad facilities facili-ties so much to be desired, and that recognition should be given the efforts ef-forts which have been made by this applicant, and the commission therefore there-fore finds that the application should he granted and the time In which the Salt Iake Denver Railroad company be required to begin active construction work be extended to February 25, 1924.
