Show STORES CHARGED WITH CIGARET SALE SALT LAKE. Jan. 7. County Attorney Attor-ney Arthur B, Morston yesterday Issued complaints against four 1 nited Cigar .stores of Salt Lake charging them with unlawful possession of clgarets for I purposes of sale. A fifth complaint was filed against John Doe Swenson, a clerk In the I company's store at Third South and i Main streets, charging him with selling clgarets in violation of tho state law. The charges were brought at the request of C. -V Chrlstensen. vice president of the N'o-Tobacco leajrii. of Utah. The lour stores were searched search-ed a week ago by deputy sheriffs and i members of the police department and ' nearly 5000 packages of clgarets selz-j selz-j cd. Search and seizure warrants wye I issued upon the affidavit of Mr. Chrie- tsnssn The seized clgarets are the property of patrons of tho United Cigar stores and were not on sale, according to S. H. McMurrln. manager of tho Unit-led Unit-led Cigar stores In Salt Lake Accord-ling Accord-ling to Mr McMarrln, each package bore the name of a regular customer of l the stores as a convenience for the I patrons. |
