T the Members oi the Weber Club: H Following the custom of our pred- j H ecessors. It Is u pleasure to submit j to you a brief report of the activities ' H of the club for the past year. Owing to the fact that quite a number of our H active members have removed from the city, there has been a slight de-crease de-crease in the total resident membcr-ship, membcr-ship, while the records show a slight H increase In the number of non-rcsi- H dent members. H 'We believe there exists among I ho H membership of the Weber club a H feeling of good-fellowship which has H always characterized this organization H In the p.i.-t and without which the H club would fail In Its purposes lc H there is one asset to the community, i , SH It is the comradhlp and goodfHi - ship of the members of the Weber -JSBm CENTER OF ACTIVITY. B "We believe that the club has func- H lioncd to the satisfaction of its mem- H bers and Its board of directors during H the past year even though there haie H been no particularly outstanding ac- H compllshments. It has been the aim H of the board of directors and the man- H agemcnt, to make the Weber club the H center of all community and civic club i H activities. The need for additional B space which has been apparent for I H some time past, has been even more I H pressing this year. For the purpose j H of devising ways and means of enlarg- B ing ilub facilities, a committee was H appointed early in the year to work H with the officers and directors to se- cure additional quarters to accommo-H accommo-H date the various allied and recently organized business men clubs, such ' as the Rotary, Klwanls, Progressive H Business Men. and the American As- I H sociatlon of Engineers, whick meet at i H our club rooms for their weekly J luncheons and monthly dinners. A new dining and bali room on the' H fourth floor of the Fred J. Kiesel I building Is all but completed, which will give ample room for these and ; H similar organizations, which should be : H cared for here. The additional ren- H tal for the added space will be met ' 1 In a large part by service charges' to the different organizations making' H use of these facilities. JjSI INDEBTED TO ESTATE, H "VN'e are indebted to the Fred J, j Kiesel estate for makinsr an appro- , priatlon of some six thousand dollars H to be used In remodeling of these new quarters, fitting them for our partlCU-J partlCU-J lor use The club has gone to ronsid- J crable expense In furnishing this new H dining and service room. It Is our J belief, however, that this Improve-; J ment will justify the expenditure, will J be Instrumental In Increasing the memlrshlp of the club and will make' of it the great parent civic organlza- ' H tion of ugden and Weber county H "During the year we have enter-' H i. uned Jointly with the chamber of I commerce, the governor of I'tah and j H other state officers and the 1 nlon Pa- i H cific system officials, carrying out I the splendid precedent of former j J years In brlngln" Into close contact i H with the club and the business men i H of Ogden these important Individuals. and there Is no doubt that such en-H en-H lertainnient does reflect most credit-1 ably to the laurels of the club nnd i h the spirit of fellowship and cordiality j H is much appreciated by the men we j H have entertained. COMMUNITY FORCE. H "That the Weber club is still recog-1 H nized as a great force in our com- munity and state development wa IHi made apparent when thr uar depart- ment required and obtained the guar- aniee of the club In the matter of sc-H sc-H ' uiing certain lands for water rights for the Ogdcn arsenal.
