Ap ipolniuu nt 01 the new ptate board of agriculture antj tho commisionor of agriculture may be expected now at any time. Inasmuch as the bill provider, pro-vider, that the appropriations 01 1920 ifgislature for the state livestock com mission, the crops and pests comuiis- jsion, thfl dairy and food commissioner and the state inspector of nplarlea shall be available for the new board 1 of agriculture. Laws creating these various commissions com-missions of the past state government uc amended or repeated by the law which became effective yesterday. The new law provides for a board of -even members. Lo hold office lor four years. No restrictions are placed on the governor In the appointment of this board, and the Idea of the trainers of the law was that the board should be appointed with the idea of the qualifications qual-ifications of its members to direct the agricultural interests and activities of tho state government, without regard 1 or question as to their political affilia jtions. The members are to receive a j per diem of $6 for time actually spent in sen Ice of the state. |
