Show Health Found in Vineyards THE "grape cure" has been the means of attracting at-tracting many "Invalids" during the past season to the vineyards of Tuscany district. It certainly Is the most attractive way that can bo conceived of to dispel one's ailments, and it Is claimed that a great number of cases of nervous ner-vous and other diseases bavo been effectually cured by an experience on this beautiful and seductive se-ductive country. It is not only the result of tho Renerous consumption of the fruit and wine therefrom, but the environment which seems to put one in a delightful state of mind, and this is said to have a desirable effect upou the entire system. The clay of a guest at one of these vineyard vine-yard sanitariums eommnces at 7 o'clock, when a wholesome breakfast is served, with grapes on which the clew Is still clinging. The diet is very carefully planned and grapes are served with each meal. The guests are encouraged to wander through the vineyards, eat the grapes and breathe deeply tho sweet aromatic -ur. Plenty of exercise is essential to the "cure." Those who are well enough may give a helping hand to the vintage gatherers, receiving the same rate of pay as tho ordinary workers. Most of the vino gatherers being llghl-hearted Neapolitans and Sicilians, they brini; with them their song, gayety and carof.v' laughter. Often when work Is euded they will gather in groups outside hydro or inn, and to the accompaniment cf guitar and mandolin sing snatches of operatic airs and old ballads. The harmony, the gay abandon in their full-throated full-throated voices makes life seem a glad thing. The senses are soothed; peace reigns -supreme. Health and happiness pervade the air. A placid content Is surely captured In the gathering of the vintage. |
