Show Bingham Metal Mining Company Prosperous In July lat, the Bingham Metal mining company which had been owned own-ed by Boston interests for a number of years was sold at a sheriff's sale and tine property was taken over by a group of Salt Lake business and mining men. Since that time considerable consid-erable work has been done in cleaning clean-ing up the property, retimbering the drifts and a number. of good ore shipped. It is hoped by November 1, the shaft will all be retimbered to the 680 foot level, whidh will give the company a better advantage to ship their ore when broken, making a straight haul .A construction campaign cam-paign of development work has been mapped out and is now being pushed ahead. The stock is growing active in the market and the company is fully financed. Bingham Metals consists of twenty six acres of land in the Bingham district dis-trict surrounded by the Utah Copper Cop-per company, Utah-Delaware (formerly (form-erly the Highland Boy) and the U. S. Smelting company's U. S. Mine. When the Salt Lake men took it over there were workings down to the 580-foot lvel, which are now being operated by leaser. The Niagra tunnel tun-nel being driven by ttve United States Smelting company will cut the Bingham Bing-ham Metals property 220 feet below the 680-foot level. When this tunnel reaches the property's sidelines the company intends to drift 400 feet to tRie first vein and there 'crosscut. There are three veins cutting the property. A three-compartment raise will be made to the 680-foot level from the 900 level and intermediate level cut on the 800-foot level. Officials of the company state there is now 80,000 tons of ore blocked out above the 680-foot level, running gold silver and lead values, the' principal value being lead. It is stated the ore will average around 25 per cent lead and is all galena and direct smelting smelt-ing product. R. M. Hampton is the superintendent superinten-dent of the property and Is in direct charge of the operations of the mine. |
