Show Record Set by City's New Street Flusher A new street cleaning record was established in Ogden last night, when the city's now $7000 motor flusher completed the flushing of twenty-four full city blocks in the downtown district dis-trict in eight hour's time, according to C. II. Martin, city street supervisor. The new flusher accomplished the same amount of work in eight hours that heretofore took two wagon flush-ers flush-ers sixteen hours to complete, Mr. Martin declared. It was announced this morning that T. W. Phillips and F. II. Checketts have been permanently employed to operate the new motor flusher. Both these men have served with tho Ogden Og-den fire department, and are experienced experi-enced with motors, Mr. Martin said. In the future the new "water-wagon" will bo in both night and day action with continuous shifts of drivers. Mr. Martin Mar-tin rode with the crew during last night's operation and he declared the new apparatus accomplished even more than was expected. oo |
