Show CULLEY REPORTS ON CONVENTION Ogden Man Tells State Druggists Drug-gists of Sessions at National Na-tional Convention 1 John Culley, Ogden druggist, gave his report as delegate to the American Pharmaceutical association convention conven-tion recently held In Chicago, at the state convention of pharmacists which opened yesterday in Salt Lake. Mr. Culley was named during tho afternoon after-noon session in Salt Lake as a member mem-ber o the nominating committee, which will nominate officers to bo elected this afternoon. President's Address President Frank J. Folland, who presided pre-sided and dolivorcd tho president's address ad-dress at the forenoon meeting, said in part: Tho spirit of cooperation mean? success in every endeavor and we should get closer together in business. rI suggest that a committee be appointed appoint-ed to visit all pharmacists ot the state, in order to enlist their aid In helping to better serve the public by means of an organized body. "Tho shortage of help at the present 'time is a serious problem to all druggists. drug-gists. Because of the long hours in which a pharmacist must work to mako a living, few seek the trade as a vocation. Tho help is also not as efficient effi-cient as it should be. There should 'be shorter hours and better working conditions. A school of pharmacy has been started at tho University of Utah which should bo taken advantage of." Address of Welcome In the address of welcome, F. C. Schramm, for the Salt Lake Commercial Commer-cial club, made a stirring pica for lutah and its scenic wonderlands, "'o 'should boost Utah more than wp do," said Mr. Schramm, "and bring the at-Itcution, at-Itcution, not only of Utahns. but of tho 'world, to the beauties and opportunities opportuni-ties found in the state. I After the invocation by S. II. Goodwin Good-win of Salt Lake, roll call by Secretary Secre-tary E. L. Wade showed seventy-five druggists, represented at the convention. conven-tion. In the secretary's report he said thero were ISO members, thirty-five new members having recently joined the association. George A. Husher of Murray, treasurer, treas-urer, made the annual report. An auditing committee was appointed appoint-ed consisting of Frank Whitworth, Reuben Farr and Frank P. Sherwood of Salt Lake, and a nominating committee com-mittee consisting of F. C. Schramm, Hugh Druehl and V II. Dayton of Salt Lake and John Culley of Ogden. oo |
