Show CANYON PAVING TO START SOON Resurfacing of Road Will Not Hinder Traffic Through Ogden's Qorge. Ogden motorists who include Ogden canyon in their itinerary of pleasure or business drives will be pleased with the news that the state road commission commis-sion expects to let bids for the paving of the, canyon road within the week and actual work of resurfacing is expected ex-pected to follow immediately. This announcement an-nouncement was made this morning by W. H. Taylor of the state road commission. com-mission. ' " The condition of the canyon road this year has caused an avalanche of complaints to com from the jolted and shaken motorists who havo made the trip. Particularly is this true from the hundreds of campers who are compelled to make the rough drive daily to Ogden and return. While some improvement has been shown as a result of the road crew operations, the condition of the road is still far from in satisfactory condition. condi-tion. Many canyon residents who had planned to make the drive to Ogden and return' dally have abandoned the idea and have resorted to the uso of the canyon railway. The travel over the road on Sundfvs and holidays is( far below normal due to the bad road conditions. As outlined by Mr. Taylor, the resurfacing re-surfacing operations, when they begin will not hamper travel on the road, as a system will be used whereby cars may ira.i ovur ins new sunacu a. iw minutes after it has been laid. It is planned to lay the entire roadsur-facc roadsur-facc within three months' time. Open In Thirty Days Mr. Tavlor announced this morning that the RIvcrdale road will be completed com-pleted tomorrow night and all new pavement will be in place by that time. Thirty days will be allowed for the concrete to 3et and the road will be entirely thrown open to travel, according accord-ing lo Mr. Taylor. With this stretch completed a paved road will be open through to Salt Lake, with the exception excep-tion of a three mile stretch which is now being paved In Farmlngton. The Hooper road, near the Hooper sugar factory Is now being paved and a one-half mile stretch Is to be completed com-pleted soon, Mr. Taylor declared. oo |
