Show MORI IE1 . WILL INVADE EAST Tentative Selections For Track Journey East Made By Christie. SAN FRANCISCO. April 29. Walter Wal-ter Christie, coach of the UniY-ersify of California track team, today announced, an-nounced, a tentative selection of ten men who will go east to represent the Blue and Gold at the Intercolleglates, May 2$, at Philadelphia an at Ann Arbor Ar-bor .in the Western conference on June. 4 and 5. The men named are Sprott, 880 and mile; Waltz, 880; iHendrixson, 220 and 440; Henderson, 440 and hurles; Hutchinson, sprints; P.eterson, pole vault; McDonald, 440 I hurdles; Merchant, hammer throw, broad jump, discus, javelin; Major, shot and hammer, discus, and Stirling, broad jump and pole vault. Sprott, Merchant and Hendrixson are sure of their places but the remaining re-maining men will not be sure of their positions until they show further meritorious mer-itorious performances in the Pacific Association A. A. U. championships at Berkeley on May 8 and at the Coast conference meet at Palo Alto a week later. Christie is now grooming his men for the coming Pacific Association titles. ti-tles. He is anxious to beat the Olympic club and Stanford in the big local A. A. U. event. He will enter a full team of at least twenty men.
