Show Shippers Protest on Freight Prepayment MONTREAL. April 20. Canadian importers of goods from the United States who are affected by tho decision de-cision of tho American and Canadian railways to compel the prepayment of all freight charges at the point of shipment will appeal against it to the United States interstate commerce commission and tho Canadian railway commission, it' was announced here. The effect of tho decision Is to increase in-crease the cost of United Slates goods, patlcularly coal, by 10 per cent. The exchange situation has been responsible re-sponsible for the action of the rail-j rail-j ways, it was said. |
