Show Appeal Urging Assistance Is Sent to Federal Reserve Bank at S. F. SALT LAKE CITY. June 12. A communication urging financial assistance assist-ance in behalf of tho livestock interests, of this section was sent to tho rodorai reserve bank at San Francisco through John U. Calkins, former governor of tho bank. The telegram follows: "On account of the very unusual conditions which have existed in the livestock industry of the stole during ,the past eight months, the. stale llve-! llve-! stock board appeals to you lo do all In jyour power In providing ways and means for the extension of credit by banks to the livestock men of the west. "An unprecedented hard winter preceded pre-ceded by a long period of drought has not only causod considerable loss, but has greatly increased" the exponse i of handling livestock. The state livestock live-stock board feels that unless a way jean be provided wherein stockmen can (receive additional financial assistance .that many of them will bo forced into I financial ruin and tho livestock indus- try of this state will recolve a decided setback.
