Show Mark Off Zones for Parking Automobiles Activities in Ogden's new automobile automo-bile parking system were in full swing thi3 morning with police officials installing in-stalling non-parking zones on Washington Wash-ington avenue. Several of these zones are being marked off in front of j Washington avenuo stores by tho painting of v red lines in the shape of boxes, where parking will bo prohibited prohibit-ed in the future in order that merchants mer-chants may be given opportunities of loading their delivery trucks. In spaces whero parking will be permitted in the downtown business arcar, white lines are being painted on the pavement forming, "stalls." in order that machines havo be all parked park-ed In proper anglo to tho sidewalk thereby, conserving space. Traffic officer William Dick is in chargo of tho zoning activities and is working under the direction of J. Ray Ward, commission of public safoty. As a solution to Ogden's parking problem, a now parking zone has been created on streets surrounding tho city hall square. Motorists who leave their cars for any length of time arc urged to take advantage of the new spaco whero police protection will bo given cars. Mr. Ward safd. that if tho new plans are successful the sys-tmo sys-tmo will be adopted into an ordinance and punishment will follow violations of its provisions. oo |
