The Methodist Episcopal church will elect fourteen new bishops, if the report of I the committee on episcopacy, ready to be presented today, is adopted. All except one are in foreign fields; where the church has had an almost phenomenal growth during the past few years, i The residences abroad are as follows: fol-lows: Shanghai, China; Calcutta, India; In-dia; Singapore, Malaysia; Mcvico City, Mexico;0 Paris, France, and Copen-; Copen-; hagen, Dcnniark. In addition thero are also seven i bishops to be elected to fill existing j Vacancies. Vacancies in the United ; States which must be filled include Portland, Oregon, und Helena. Mont. Those abroad . include Peking, China, Chi-na, and Manila, P. 1. If the report of the committee is adopted, "it .will mean that additions will be made to the foreign fields as follows: " - In China Three bishops Instead of In southern Asia Four bishops instead in-stead of two.
