Show "Masher"-Landed in jail; Strikes Sleuth H. L. Brown, laborer, charged with intoxication and resisting an officer, pleaded guilty before Judge D. R. Roberts Rob-erts this morning in the city court Ho was fined $90 or 00 days. Testimony showed that Detectives William Taylor and Everett Noble had watched Brown and G. W. Rogers' attempt at-tempt to "mash" two women near tho corner of Twenty-fifth and Washington. Washing-ton. They immediately arrested the men and started taking them to the police station. Whfle passing through the city hall park, Brown hit Taylor on the nose with force enough to lacerate lacer-ate it, say the police. A general struggle strug-gle ensued In which Brown was finally final-ly overpowered and handcuffed. He was then taken to the police station. Rogers pleaded not guilty when he appeared in court. He was represented by J. C. Davis. The case was set for trial Friday, May 14, and bail was fixed in tho sum of $100. Brown claimed to have been drinking "corn whiskey" and claimed that he had no knowledge of atrikins Detective Taylor. |
