Show CLEVELAND CARMEN REJECT WAGE OFFER . CLEVELAND, May 4. -Union mo-tormen mo-tormen and conductors employed by the Cleveland Railway company at mass meetings last night and early today, to-day, rejected tho company's maximum offer of 76 cents an hour, an increase o 15 cents, with a minimum six-hour day, and voting overwhelmingly to strike at midnight tomorrow. Approximately Ap-proximately 3,000 men will be affected. affect-ed. Tho men demand an increase of 30 cents an hour and a minimum eight-hour eight-hour day. The company withdrew counter-demands for an open shop and tho employment em-ployment of women conductors. |
