Show h A SCHOOL PLAY. H Last evening, at the Orpheum, the pupils of the schools of Ogden H appeared before a large audience in "The Pixies," an operetta in H two acts. The opening scene, "Sunrise in Fairyland," was a dc- Hj lightful picture ef beautiful children grouped on an elevated stage, H; where slumber has them in its keeping. Little children always are H beautiful, but there never were sweeter facess of little ones than those H upturned to admiring parents and friends last night, H The operetta, fr6m beginning to end, disclosed patient training, H careful drilling, wiBe directing. We have never seen an amateur H production by children with every part so well played, and seeming- H ly devoid of prompting. There was no hesitating; no embarrassing H stumbles, no awkward situations. H The operetta sheuld prove stimulating to the littlo ones and 1 amise school pride. It should be a yearly event, and then Ogden H may become famous for its school production, and unsuspected talent B may be developed. 1 For its toning up effect, this public performance should be rc- H peated. 1 |
