Show LODGINGS ARRANGED FOR AMERICAN ATHLETES ANTWERP, Aug. 6. (By tho Associated Asso-ciated Press ) Rush efforts were being be-ing made today to get all In readiness for the American Olympic athletes at their lodgings, a primary school building in the Rue Ouduln. The cyclists cyc-lists hae arrived and are quartered In this building Long rows of cots fill the class rooms which hae been converted Into dormitories The United States army supplied several large cots for the heavyweights on the team, those provided b.i the Belgians not being big enough. The cyclists now occupying the lodgings lodg-ings havo not found them satisfactory', it is said, but hope for improvement The only shower baths in the school house are located In the court yard, almost in the open. So far there haj been no hot water Tho Belgian authorities are trying hard to get the stadium in shape for the opening, which will be held August Aug-ust 1 4 The athletes already here aro not enthusiastic over the arrangements arrange-ments Training for the vaulting and lumping events Is handicapped by the total lack of equipment on tho field. oo |
