Show DR. VANCE'S DAILY ARTICLE . Man Is hopelessly religious. He Is essentially a spirit He has a moral sense. H Is more than brawn, inore thun brains, more than blood corpuscles. corpus-cles. He is personality dowered with conscience. He is Judgment, emotion, volition, plus. Tho slzo of a man Is not the size of his body, nlhe r Is the size of bis mentality. He may have a big body and be u little man. He may have a great mind and a small nature. The slzo of a man Is the size of his soul, it Is the dimensions of his moral spirit. What tho bones are to the body, morality is to the character. It Is the framework. It determines stature. It Is what wo build on As well try to build a house without framework us character without morality I once saw a man 30 years old with the physical development of a boy of 14 The doctors doc-tors said he had a disease which prevented pre-vented tho growth of his bones Such a situation is parallelled in the spiritual spirit-ual when morality Is stunted. A man jmay have the brain development of ' 30 and tho moral training of a child Ho may be an adult In his mentality' and an Infant In his sense of moral I a lues. It Is, therefore, evident that an edu-' cutlon which leaves the moral sense aside Is so far defective. It does not equip for service. It does not Qualify I for life. It falls to prepare the individual indivi-dual to handle himself aright in the i midst of human relations. It sharpens his wits and leaves them to play tho devil. If man Is essentially a spirit, ho is I not educated until his spirit has been I tu ught The worst Ignoramuj Is he whoso niurul nature Is a blank. |
