Roll called showed an attendance of nine outef eleven teachers present. The first on the program waa a paper by Mia Elisabeth Thomas of Oakley; object, "Primary Reading." Tbe excellent ex-cellent paper wai followed by a short discussion. P.J. Sanders then read his paper; subject, "How to Teach History." Alter tbe reading ol tbe paper outline on history his-tory were distributed and a ditcustlon followed. Tbe assignment of work for the reading read-ing circle waa then considered. Tbe book need is "The Teaching of English." Alter soms discussion, it wa decided to give the primary teacher the Ant fifty pagee on kindergarten and primary work, and tbe remaining teacher the second fifty page of the book. The following fol-lowing teachers were assigned to prepare paper oa subject matter a follows: Mies Knowlton, tbe firtt 25 page o primary work, and Miss Young the second sec-ond 25 pages. Beginning with the fifth chapter up to and Including the seventh as follows: Frat 10 page, Mr. Oisoe; second 18, Mr. Christiansen ; ' third 14, Mr. Day. The paper on arithmetic by Mr. Guild wa held over until next meeting. The next meeting will be held in Oakley Oak-ley In four week. |
