Show Former Bingham Mining Man Dies News was received in Bingham thin week of the death of Thomas M. Penrose Pen-rose in Santa Monica, California. Mr. Penrose was superintendent of the Yampa Mine here for several years and always had some of the best miners in his employ that could be found in the state. He was a thoroughly thorough-ly practical miner, ami could do any work necessary in the operation of a mine. He was born in Cornwall, England Eng-land and when but a small boy worked work-ed in the tin mines of that country. On gaining the necessary experience, he left his native land for Australia where he worked in the mines and later came to the U. S. A. where he operated mines successfully in Nevada Montana and other popular mining camps. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary H. Penrose, a sister, Mrs. Geo. H. Richards of Detroit, Michigan and the following children: Mrs. Ruby P. Shepherd of Salt Lake, Mrs. Hazel P. Libby of Detroit and Garnet Penrose of Hawthorne California and six grandchildren. He was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge. |
