The boy, after having told of his parents' death of influenza a year ago, said that an aunt, with whom he had been living had turned him away from i the house because she was tired of ! having him around. ' i The officers did all in their power i to make- the youngster comfortable jand after carefully washing the boy's; 'face and hands, arranged for his 1 breakfast, the cook at the station preparing pre-paring a fine meal for the boy. ! He was removed to the juvenile I court, .nd while there, repeated his story, and in audition stated that his grandmother lived here and 'would ipiobnbly take care of him if he was 'allowed to depart. j He was questioned as to what school he attended and stated that he was a! pupil at the Pingrce school. Invcstigu- (tion proved this statement false. Va-! rious other schools were called by Ju-tvenile Ju-tvenile Officer Shreeves and the one which the boy attended was finally lo- J cated. Here St was found that, the "dead" j parents were but figments of the boy's 1 imagination and that he had attended ja picture show last evening with the view of spending the night at his grandmother's after the show. J He stayed down town and when ar-(rested ar-(rested had both the police and the ju-jvenile ju-jvenile officers swallowing lumps in , their' throat as they reflected what n cruel, cruel place the world is.
