Show WORK OF WEBER STftKE PRAISED By APOSTLE RUDGER COB At the quarterly conference of the Weber stake, held in the tabernacle, Acting President Apostle Rudger Clawson, of the twelve apostles, and President Rulon S. Wells, of the first council of seventies, were speakers. President Lewis W. Shurtliff presided presid-ed during the afternoon session, and President John Watson presided at the morning session. Compliments to the choir were paid by Apostle Clawson and President Wells. Apostle Clawson said there is nothing that rests the mind as does good music. He recalled the organizing organiz-ing of the tabernacle choir eighteen years ago, when Professor Joseph Bal-iantyne Bal-iantyne was selected as leader. "The Lord's system of doing things is perfect," said Apostle Clawson. Every Ev-ery thing arranged and appointed by God moves in its proper sphere, uninfluenced unin-fluenced by other matters." He said that while man-made things might break and crumble that things made by God were permanent. In his address during the afternoon session. Apostle Clawson said that the Lord loves variety. He never made two thfngs alike and in all his work there is a great variety Joseph Smith, as a man of God, could have told the United States how to avoid the Civil war, Apostle Clawson Claw-son declared. President Shurtliff, In a brief ad dress, said that he was greatly pleased with the activities of the workers In the stake. He said that it was progressing, pro-gressing, and that good results could be seen which had been effected by the organization. President Watson delivered a short address. |
