Show EXPERIMENTS IN DROPPING MAIL FROM AIRPLANE BELMONT PARK. N Y., Nov. 18 Exepriments in dropping mail fromj an airplf-ne in flight will be made at Washington today by a Martin plane, piloted by W. N Stevens, which left this morning with 746 pounds of mail.' This machine, which carries about three times as much mall as the ordi nary plane, in fitted with a trap door device in the fuslage through which the mail may be dropped. An attempt will be made to drop mall on the capltol grounds and the roof of the Washington postoffice, Edward Waters, a mechanic, was .carried todav as a passenger. I |
