Show BURGLARS CUT GLASS WINDOW AND ENTER TWO HOMES WHERE TELEPHONE LINES ARE SNAPPED What is supposed to be the Tork of professional burglars, in curing telephone and electric light wires, is disclosed In robberies committed sometime some-time during last night at the homes of Mrs. Joseph Clark. 27?Z Washington avenue, and John M Browning, Twenty-seventh streei anil Adams avenue. The cool and deliberate action of the burglars is shown by the thoroughness uth which they did the job The loot secured in the Clark robbery rob-bery was of a e-mail amount, as Mrs. ("lark had taken the precaution, al the time the Pingree home was robbed, to place her diamonds and valuable Jewels in a safety deposit vault. Nothing Noth-ing was secured at the Browning residence, resi-dence, as John M. Browning, the well-known well-known gun inventor, was at home .ind when he heard the cutting of the wires he immediately got up and the burl.ir beat a retreat. The burglars al the Clark home wen1 to a window on the back porch where they removed the screen and then with a diamond cutter, bored a hole in the window glass and raised the latch to the sash. After the sash was unlocked the burglars' entrance u easy. During the time of this operation opera-tion in the house the burglars visited every room and the basement, where their evident search for liquor was unrewarded un-rewarded After coing through the rooms on the first floor, ihe burglars proceeded m the bedroom where Mrs Clark and her granddaughter. On the dresser in this room they gathered up a pocket book which contained a small amount of cash, and several articles of Jewelry- Among the latter were two largo white sapphire rings, which resembled diamonds. The burglars then went to a back room and sorted over the loot discarding all except ex-cept the two sapphire rings and "he money. At the Browning residence the noise of the culling and dropping of the wire aroused Mr Browning, who go4.! up and started for the rear. He found I the wires had been cut. Electricians who were called to the ('lark and Browning residences this morning to repair the wires, declared thai the wire-cutting was done by a I skilled professional electrician The two robberies last night, together togeth-er with those of the Bristol and Piu-gree Piu-gree homes within the past ten dsys have completely baffled the police. It is conceded that the crimes are being committed by professional burglars. In all cases the homes entered were I those of the well to-do and in each case Hie -deeping room? of the owners WOTC entered and Jewels and money secuicd.
