Show ION THE ROAD TO SALT LAKE. Raring approved of plans Tor the Improving of the state road between Ogden and Salt Lake, the state highway high-way authorities are to be eommended lor displaying good judgment Much of the road to Salt Lake is concrete, but there are sections wbicii are mud holes in wet weather and almost al-most impassable. By pushing the work during this season, the entire distance can be made a concrete drive. I inere is neavj uiuui , and commercial, between the two cit-ies, cit-ies, and the road commissioners make no error in planning a campaign to . make that travel less expensive and trying Ih&n at present Having resolved to bring the high- j way up to a better condition, the state officials should give attention to the neglected 6tretches of concrete which j have been allowed to disintegrate by failure to make repairs where the surface sur-face has shown excessive wear. Our state must be as vigilant as is the head of private property. No owner own-er of a toll road would allow the concrete con-crete surface to be broken without proceeding imroedaitely to prevent the forming of holes. There are stretehei on the state highway where the con-I con-I II crote has been worn to the point ol j breaking up. |
