Patriotic Patri-otic students In Central high school here today tore from the walls of a classroom a picture of Emperor William Wil-liam of Germany and hung in its place a picture of President Wilson decorated decorat-ed with two American flags. The emperor's likeness disappeared! before officers of the sehcol cadet; corps had an opportunity to present to. Miss Marie Seibert. teacher of Ger-I Ger-I man, a resolution protesting against i the presence of "a murderer's picture ' i and demanding its removal. Harry Roper. 15 years old, son of j Daniel Roper, recently appointed to the tariff commission, led the agitation agita-tion begun several uays ago against' l the picture by turning Its face to the wall several times. Miss Seibert, who is an American citizen, insisted that It should remain, 'saying she intended to use ii to illustrate illus-trate a lecture. The cadet officers in-I in-I terested themselves and they were ready to act today when other stu dents entered the room during a re cess and made the substitution. School authorities are investigating J the incident. |
