Show LECTURE GIVEN BY OB. JOHN 8. KOEHNE The Personality of Christ" was the theme of a lecture given by Dr. John B. Koehne last night at the Method 1st church, vhich proved to he the' most interesting of the srries thus far "Christ," he declared, "Is the perfect ideal, the ideal for men. women wo-men and children. Of no other character char-acter in history can this bo truly said. Man following Christ becomes more virllo and manly. His spirit of Christ also serves to develop in woman all the virtues and graces that place her at her best and children also find him their perfect Ideal " Continuing. Dr. Koehne said, "The great pipe organ has a limited number! of octaves. Certain of the world's greatest musicians were masters in certain spheres -of music, each pos-essing pos-essing his own peculiar strength. So when men attempt to classify Christ, I they utterly fail. This was illustrat-ed illustrat-ed on the occasion when Cbrlel turned to his disciples and said. Whom do men say that I am?' The answer given was: 'Some say that Thou Art Moses, others say that Thou Art Ellas.' 'But whom say ye that I am?' And a fisherman stepped forth end said: 'Thou Art the Christ, the Son of the living God.' " Dr. Koehne will continue his lectures' each evening, beginning at 8 o'clock, with the exception of Thursday. On this evening, he will begin at 7:30 o'clock and conclude at 8:30 to gie' his congregation the opportunity of attending the recital of James God dard at the tabernacle. The concert con-cert will be started at 8 4." o'clock,! giving the patrons of both ample time to go from the church to the Tabor-1 nacle. |
