Babst, approximated (200,000.-000, (200,000.-000, leMing a manufacturing profit of about 4 1-2 per cent. This percentage, it is claimed, is "outside of the Chicago Chi-cago packers, the smallest margin of profit in the manufacturing world." Tables accompanying the report show that the company's business in 1896 amounted to 34 per cent of the whole sugar production, cane and beet, , as against 75 per cent of the entire output in 1894. The company, it is slated, has nearly 20,000 stockholders, one-half of whom are women |
