It is announced, adds the dispatch, that the curtailment in the use of, wheat is necessary to insure the present pres-ent stocks lasting until next harvest! The announcement of the bread ration ra-tion reduction has caused consternation consterna-tion in Germany. The Rhenische West-faellsche West-faellsche Zeitung says the reduction is a very' painful surprise. The Cologne Volkszeitung reproduced repro-duced a semi official statement which contains the following: "It should not be concealed that this' new restriction means a great sacrifice sacri-fice and can only be borne by a peo-1 pie who for the sake of the highest aims will bear even a heavier burden and who have a firm confidence that 1 their patient endurance will be reward-1 ed before long by a glorious peace." no |
