Senator Xorris of Nebraska, one of the twelve senators v. ho defeated the arraod neutrality neu-trality bill, made public tonight a let-! tei he wrote yesterday to Governor' Neville of Nebraska, asking that the state legislature pass a law providing for a referendum on whether the senator sen-ator should be recalled. He piomised, if the verdicl went against him in such an r led ion held before May 1 undr a law to punish illegal voting, to h;uid the governor his resignation "On account." I have been severely denounced and criticised, not only in Nebraska, but all over the country inese cnarges have been published and republished by the newspapers of the country, with a venom and a unanimity unan-imity which show a Rigantic combina tion to conceal from the people of the United States the real issues involved and to push our country into the vortex vor-tex of the terrible and senseless war now being waged in Europe. It is charged not only that I am a traitor to my eountr. but that I do not represent rep-resent the people of Nebraska, from whom I hold my commission as a member mem-ber of the United States senate.
