Show uu UTAH PROGRESSIVES FAVOR A TICKET Salt Lake, Aug. 1. Utah Progressive Progres-sive leaders decided last night to send a telegram -to the Progressive conference in Indianapolis favoring tho filling of the vacancy at the head of the Progressive national ticket. They met at the office of W. D. Livingston, chairman of the state executive ex-ecutive committee. The framing o the telegram was left to a subcommittee, subcommit-tee, which will dispatch tho message today. It probably will not suggest any names for tho head of the ticket at this time. The decision to send the message was reached after it was decided that the time was too short and the distance dis-tance too far to send any representative representa-tive to the Indianapolis conference, called by Mathew Hale, acting chairman chair-man of tho Progressive national com- I mittee, to meet August 3. Besides this matter, the Progressive Progres-sive discussed informally the prospects pros-pects for an alliance on state and county tickets with the Democrats. What look place at the latest conference, confer-ence, held yesterday, of the unofficial conference committees of Progressives Progres-sives and Democrats was reported. No agreement has yet been reached by theCunofflcIal conferees. Reports that the Progressives might have a woman candidate for the state senate to proffer to the coalition ticket came yesterday from Denver. It was announced that Mrs. Lily C. Wolstenholme, Progressive member of the house of representa-tlvs representa-tlvs in the last legislature, would be a candidate this year for nomination to the upper branch of the legislature. |
