Show TIE LEGISLATURE WILL MEET IN HEW CAPITOL Salt Lake. Feb 10. Senator Rideout introduced a resolution this afternoon, which wjU be passed by both houses legalizing the holding of the future sessions of the legislature in the new capitol building, beginning at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon This was necessary owing to the call for the present legislature specifically naming the place as the City and County building of Salt Lake. At 1 o'clock tomorrow the members will gather at the new capitol to listen to an address by D. J. Palmer, commander in-chief of the G. A. R. Governor Spry has named Peter Condle and Howard A. King aa his messengers. In the House. Representative Ennls introduced three bills regulating railroaa charges The first provides that ino common carrier shall charge more than SI a ton on freight within the state hauled not more than 100 miles, and 1 cent a ton per mile for longer distances. Passenger rates shall not exceed 3 cents per mile. Every railroad company and other corpora-tlon corpora-tlon serving as common carrier, shall file schedules of reasonable and uniform uni-form rates with the secretary of 6tate. Representative (rose introduced a bill fixing maximum transportation rates on coal within the state at 32 cents a ton for the first ten miles i and up to 52.20 for 600 miles, on lack and pea coal, and 40 cents up to $2.75 on other coal. Representative Fitch introduced a measure to increase the salary of the district attorney in the Seventh dis trict. . oo |
