The subject taken for the different speeches were "Great Statesmen of the. United States The program was as follows: Senior Class (a) "George Washington." Wash-ington." Rida Ensign, (b) "Andrew Jackson," Venice Jones Junior Class (a) "John C Calhoun." Cal-houn." Vilate Froerer; (b) "Benjamin Franklin," Leland Brewer. Sophomore Class (a) "Alexander Hamilton," William Mlnson; (b) Thomas Jefferson," Delbert Foulgcr. Freshman Class (a) "Abraham Lincoln," Myrtle Cant well; (b) "Daniel "Dan-iel Webster," Pleasant Taylor All of the speeches were excellently given, but the decision of the Juries was in favor of the representatives of the Junior class, making another con test necessary to decide hv championship. champi-onship. At the close of the speaking program pro-gram a basketball rally was held by the student body for the purpose of practicing up on its repertoire of songs and yells for use at the league game tomorrow night. This contest will be between the Weber academy and Ogden high school toams and will be played on the Weber academy floor. A rally was also held at the high School today and it Is expected that ili attendance at the game tomorrow-night tomorrow-night will break all previous records. oo |
