Show BARROOM FIGHT SERIOUS AFFAIR T. C. Morris and H. L. Bywater, who aro alleged to have participated In a free-for-all fight last night with J. H. Brooks and Hal Lessenger, were arraigned in tho municipal court this morning on a charge of disturbing tho peace. Both ontorod pleas of not guilty and their hearlngB were Bet for August 18. Ball In each caso was set at $100. Lessenger, who wa3 badly bad-ly injured in the fray was unablo to appear In court. He Is still at tho Dee hospital, where he was taken for treatment. Tho Tight started in a barroom and Brooks, who made his escape and has not yet been apprehended, 1b believed be-lieved to havo been tho man who wielded the knife with which Lessenger Lessen-ger was injured. Brooks, who came to Ogden about two weeks ago, is n native of Atlanta, Ga., but has beon living In San Francisco, whero ho is said to have a 'vyifo and child. During his stay in Ogden, he was employed aB an extra salesman by tho McCune-Foulger Shoo company and, according to a statement mado by Manager G. W. McCune today, appeared ap-peared to havo been of a peaceablo temperament and a thorough gentleman. |
