Show H THE PEOPLE TWICE REPUDIATED H The Examiner says that-the terrific H rebuke issued by the people against H the school authorities when they vot- H ed down the school bonds last year H was not a reflection on Superinteud- H ent Mills, but on the school board. H Oh, no! You are wrong. The school H board that asked for the bonds was u i Mills board and not .an anti-Mills 1 board. Mr. Mills was in absolute con- H trol when the bonds were voted on. H Since then, the election of a new mem H ber, changed the complexion of the H board. The people would have voted H for the bonds but for Mr. Mills. What H ' was the opposition to the bonds? H On every street corner the cry was, H "No bonds so long as Mills is in con- H trol!" Any sensible and high minded H man, except Mr. Mills, would have re- H signed at that time, as it was a severe H repudiation. H Mr. Mills was repudiated at the big H public mass meeting at the Taber- B nacle. He was again repudiated at H the bond election and now he wants H the board to resign and submit them- 1 selves for re-election. That is silly, H Mr. Mills is the trouble maker, not H the school board. Mr. Mills should H obey the school board or resign. H I r.n . |
