Show jj BAPTISTS Of OGH HOLD ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual meoting of the First Baptist church last night was largely attended, and just about 100 responses were heard at the roll call, besides a few messages from absent members, The church auditorium was well filled fill-ed and the reports 'from the church and all affiliated organizations showed show-ed a substantial progress in all lines. This was especially noticeable In the i financial report. With a greatly en-j en-j larged budget over previous 'years the church closed the year with practically prac-tically no deficit. The new officers for the ensuing year are. Sunday School superintendent, Carlisle Car-lisle Stevens, J. R. Ward assistant superintendent, Mrs. J. B. Grace superintendent sup-erintendent intermediate and junior departments, Mrs. W. E. Moore, reelected re-elected superintendent of primar' department, de-partment, S. P. Brooks and E. II Dunsmore were re-elected deacons, and Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald was reelected re-elected deaconess. Mrs. T. D. Johnson, John-son, H. A. Downs and J. R. Ward were elected trustees. Mrs. J. F. Hobbn was re-elected church clerk, and E TI. Dunsmore, was re-elected church treasurer. Miss Nellie Dunsmore was elected superintendent of the West Ogden Mission. Frank Dunsmore was elected prayer meeting organist Mrs. Minnie Shields was re-elected treasurer of the relief fund. Music committee Mrs. Anna Hastings, Hast-ings, Jay Smith and Miss Nellie Dunsmore. Duns-more. The Rev. Dr. J. F. Preble and wife of Auburn, Maine, who are visiting Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hadley of 885 Twenty-sixth street were present and Mr. Preble delighted the audience with a brief message from the Bap tists of Maine. The social hour was one of the greatest in the history of the church, at least some of the older members of the church so expressed themselves. The Ladies' Kensington, under the leadership of Mrs. Anna Hastings and the chairmen of her various committees, com-mittees, did all within their power to see that every one had a good time. The large social room was taxed to its capacity twice before all had partaken par-taken of the bountiful chicken pie dinner that had been provided and was free for all. It was a late hour before this meeting meet-ing broke up. There were many hearty words of congratulations and best wishes spoken for the welfare of the church to pastor Geo. F Lowe and wife as the guests and members were departing. |
