Show oo SUDIK HOLD STATE CONFERENCE I HTSf LE The stato Scandinavian conference opened at Huntsvillo this afternoon at about 0 o'clock with a fairly good attendance. It is said that a larger attendance is expected for tomorrow when many Scandinavians will come from various parts of the state. The time for the opening of the conference confer-ence was set at 2 o'clock today and, for that reason, many visitors remained remain-ed in Ogden until "about 1 o'clock, when the cars to Huntsville were filled fill-ed with people. ' Several hundred took the early morning cars for the conference city. Cars have been operated every thirty thir-ty minutes during tho day and tomorrow tomor-row a 20-minute service will be given. Before tho formal opening of tho conference this afternoon the Huntsville Hunts-ville band gave a concert, which was appreciated by the visitors nnd residents resi-dents of the city. The speakers this afternoon were President Anthon II. Lund, of Salt Lako, Bishop John Halls of Huntsville and Elder C A. Carl-quist. Carl-quist. A social party will be given in the Wangsgaard hall this evening. The first session of the conference tomorrow will be given at 10 o'clock a. m and the second session will be at 2 p. m. In the evening a song concert con-cert will be given, the most prominent Scandinavian vocalists of Utah to take part. |
