FOREST FIRES ARE RAGING IN IDAHO Boise, Idaho, Aug. 30. More than 400 men, rushed in special trains over the Idaho Northern railroad, are fighting fight-ing fires today In south central Idaho .that threaten to destroy thousands of acres of valuable timber belonging to tho government, the state, the Boise- Payette Lumber company and private parties. Without rain for six weeks, tho forests are dry and fires have started to play havoc. Tho first firo broke out on state land near Idaho City and burned over 100 acres. It is said to be under control. con-trol. The second Is raging nlong the Bear river north of Bolso and has covered a large area. The third and tho most dangerous Is In heavy timber along the north fork of the Payette rlvor. near Banks Fire fighters are being rushed there, where the flames are raging in the Payette national forest for-est and on stato tlmber.i
